Cybersecurity
There’s plenty of talk about Cybersecurity these days and rightfully so. The truth is there’s not just one thing you can do to protect yourself. Technology Porter implements layers of protection for your organization. The following are all baked into our Monthly Plans.
systems patching
It’s important to ensure all Operating Systems, Network appliances (firewall, switches, wifi access points), and Hardware firmware are up-to-date. We actively patch systems monthly or for critical vulnerabilities the day bulletins are received, and we further do Monthly and Quarterly audits of systems to ensure your environment is current.
hardware
An often overlooked point is ensuring your organization is using “Business Class” hardware. PC, network, and IOT devices that are targeted for consumers do not always have long term support. These devices can have critical vulnerabilities or crippling bugs left unmitigated by vendors 1-2 years after initial release. We can select and procure hardware that fits your requirements and provide long term support for your investment.
Network
Your network connecting devices to internal and external resources is an important part of your infrastructure. We implement cloud based Firewall, Switch, and Wi-fi Access Points that provide active security scans of all traffic while making configuration audits simple.
end-point security
As cyber threats have evolved over the years, so have the technology we use to combat them. We don’t simply install an Anti-virus solution anymore. We use a combination of tools from DNS packet filtering, least privileged access, to MDR/EDR.
Social engineering
This is probably the most important aspect of your Cybersecurity Playbook. We the end-users are now more than ever the target for hackers. Cybercriminals have unprescendented access to information about your employees and organization, and they are using that info to trick them via Social Engineering.
Here’s a blog post with some more information, but Technology Porter looks to mitigate this risk by including Security Awareness Training and Password Management Tools in our Monthly Plan. This ensures your employees are aware of the current threat trends, and that they can practice sound password hygiene.
